Frequently asked questions
What can I expect my first session?
Your initial session is focused on building connection and laying the groundwork for our work together. We’ll go over any intake forms, talk about what brought you to therapy, and explore what you’re hoping to get out of the process. You’ll also have time to ask any questions you may have. You’re in control of the pace you can share openly or keep things broad at first. Whether you want to jump right in or ease into the conversation, both approaches are completely welcome.
How long are sessions and how often do we meet?
Sessions are 50-60 minutes long. We will focus on making the most of our time! Session frequency is tailored to your needs, goals, and what you’re currently navigating. Many clients begin with weekly sessions to create consistency and build traction, while others choose biweekly sessions or a schedule that better aligns with their life. Together, we’ll determine a pace that feels manageable, supportive, and aligned with your growth.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy is valuable for anyone looking for support with life’s challenges, enhancing their mental well-being, or gaining a deeper understanding of themselves. If you’re feeling stuck, stressed, or simply interested in personal growth, therapy offers a safe and guided space to explore those experiences. It’s completely normal to feel unsure at the beginning, and during your first sessions, we’ll work together to see if therapy is the right fit for you.
What type of therapy do you offer?
I use a variety of therapeutic approaches to address different needs, including cognitive behavioral therapy CBT, EMDR, and psychodynamic techniques. Together, we’ll determine which methods best support your goals and adapt them as your work in therapy evolves. My aim is to provide a tailored approach that is practical, compassionate, and focused on meaningful, real-world outcomes.
