Do you offer therapy for men in Nassau County or Long Island?
Yes. I also offer telehealth as an alternative.
Is therapy different for men?
While the fundamentals of therapy are the same, some men prefer less focus on abstract concepts and ideas and more focus on direct and practical approaches.
What If I’m Not Comfortable Talking About My Feelings?
That’s very common. Many men were never taught how to talk about emotions directly, and therapy can start from wherever you feel comfortable. We often begin by discussing situations, stressors, or reactions and gradually build insight from there. Emotional awareness tends to develop naturally as the conversation progresses.
What If My Partner Wants Me to Go to Therapy?
It’s common for men to first consider therapy because a partner suggested it. Therapy can still be useful even if the idea didn’t start with you. Many clients find that once they begin, it becomes a space to think through challenges more clearly and develop tools that improve both relationships and personal well-being.
Do You Work With Men Who Have Experienced Trauma?
Yes. Many men carry unresolved experiences from earlier in life or from high-stress careers. Trauma can show up as irritability, emotional shutdown, difficulty trusting others, or chronic stress. Trauma-focused approaches such as EMDR can help process these experiences so they no longer have the same impact on your daily life.
